Thirty years has passed. Our country is embracing her one hundred years anniversary. And I, a psychological counselor of some renown, am preparing with my strong team for next week’s lectures, which is to help people learn more about and understand more humanity. Thanks to my diligence of the past years, I have better knowledge to help people who are mentally ill reduce the pain and lead them to a better life. I, together with my team members, also work to improve people’s responsibility and inclusive toward others. In the internet age making connections between people is faster and easier than ever but the cost of networking is also greater.
In retrospect, one tragedy is still in the back of my mind. One woman doctor and her husband clashed with two teenagers in the swimming pool. From the video we just can see the scene that doctress’s husband is putting one boy’s head into swimming pool. After the incident, boys’ parents came to doctress’s office and crated a disturbance which lead to her unemployment. But it was not over. The doctress committed suicide under the cyber violence and the pressure of boys’ families. In this case, who is the ring leader? The influence of cyber violence maybe the main one. But what’s worse, those who choose to end their lives because of online violence are getting closer and closer. Everyone is likely to be the next one to be attacked online, you, he and I. The internet provide us a broader channel to listen to more diverse voices, but most people’s inclusive and moral quality fail to catch the development of technology.
Now, what I and my team members are doing is to help people with depression step out of the shadow of depression and prevent more people from involving in the whirlpool of online bullying. In 2049, I am proud of telling you that more and more people start to understand other people and focus more on incidents’ authenticity. The society become more inclusive to others when they begin to view things from different angles. I believe, when the rise of China 100 years ago is partly because of its inclusive to outside, and now, the prosperity of our society is partly because people’s inclusive to others.
